  1. King County, Pierce county, and others are now in phase 2.  Check King 5 news.  The new COVID19 variant  B117 strain of COVID-19 was identified in King County last week. The CDC recently predicted the B117 strain will be the predominant strain in the US by March.

  1. City of Seattle cash assistance to workers in the hospitality industry. The City of Seattle has partnered with Wellspring Family Services to provide one-time cash assistance to meet the basic needs of workers in the hospitality industry (bars, restaurants, hotels, and motels)  impacted by the COVID-19 crisis. Application Period: January 11-February 1, 2021. Apply online: https://hospitality.wellspringfs.org/

King County published an updated safety guidelines poster for reopening mosques.  If your mosque or Islamic center would like to use this poster and add their name to it, please feel free to contact “muslimcna AT gmail.com” so we can send you a customized version with your Islamic center name in it.

Washington Exposure Notifications (also known as WA Notify) is a new tool that works through smartphones, without sharing any personal information, to alert users if they may have been exposed to COVID-19.  It is completely private and doesn’t know or track who you are or where you go.
  4. Free prayer pocket mat, disposable and reusable face masks. MCNA & Tarteel School are distributing free prayer pocket mats and face masks, please use this form to order for your Muslim Community center. No need to order if you need it for your family, but you will need to call ahead of time to make sure face masks are available in the pickup location: Zebra Printing, in Bellevue.   6. FDA authorizes LabCorp COVID19 home test. FDA authorized LabCorp’s Pixel COVID-19 Test Home Collection Kit for use by any individual 18 years and older without a prescription
